Dippot (Dinotefuran 15% + Pymetrozine 45% WG) Active ingredients: Dinotefuran 15% + Pymetrozine 45% WG Formulation: Water dispersible granules (WG) Mode of action: Systemic and translaminar action dual control Dippot is a water-dispersible granule insecticide containing two active ingredients, which are Dinotefuran 15% and Pymetrozine 45%. It is a contact and systemic insecticide used to control different pests in crops, particularly in rice (paddy).

Mode of action:

Dinotefuran: It is a neonicotinoid insecticide that disrupts the nervous system of insects by interfering with nerve transmission, which leads to paralysis of the insect and eventually death. Pymetrozine: An insecticide that stops feeding in sap-sucking insects like aphids and whiteflies. It works by breaking the nerve signals, which causes the insects to stop feeding and eventually die.

Key features:

  • Dual mode of action: Combines the effects of both Dinotefuran and Pymetrozine which provides broad-spectrum control of pests.
  • Contact and systemic: The insecticide works both by direct contact with pests and by being absorbed into the plant tissue, which offers internal protection.
  • Target pests: Effective against brown plant hopper (BPH), green leaf hopper, white-backed plant hopper and rice ear head bug.
  • Crops: Primarily used in paddy crops.
  • Water-dispersible granules: It means it needs to be diluted in water before application.
  • Dosage: About 133.2 grams per acre.

Benefits:

  • Dippot controls a large range of sap-sucking pests, which include those that have developed resistance to other insecticides.
  • Dinotefuran provides quick knockdown effects; on the other hand, Pymetrozine helps in preventing further feeding damages.
  • The systemic action of Dinotefuran provides residual protection.
  • The dual mode of action helps in managing resistance development in pests.
  • It allows the plants to develop healthy tillers and improve yield by controlling pests.
