Mode of action of Fifty-O-5
This insecticide is a combination of two powerful formulations, which are Chlorpyriphos and Cypermethrin. Chlorpyriphos acts as a systemic and contact insecticide by inhibiting acetylcholinesterase (an enzyme that is essential for the nerve function in insects). This results in failure of the nervous system of insects, which leads to paralysis and death. Cypermethrin is a synthetic pyrethroid that works by disrupting the sodium channel in the insect's nerve membranes, which causes hyperexcitation, loss of coordination and quick knockdown.
